The idea behind EventIQ Website Manager is to make your site instantly editable if you have sufficient permissions. If you want to edit a page or change a product description you don’t have to seek through long lists of pages, or, even worse - aspx/html files. Thanks to the natural "browse-and-edit" approach of EventIQ Website Manager you can navigate through the site using its own menus/hyperlinks and modify the respective part on-the-fly.
To enhance the experience of WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) site management, EventIQ Website Manager is bundled with a website content editor. This solution is ideal for most parts of your site, like product descriptions, greeting messages, even picture galleries. EventIQ content editor can easily handle text, images, tables, hyperlinks, Flash, Windows Media, etc. It can retrieve information for a database or save static content directly to files.
EventIQ Website Manager uses flexible layout templates to speed up the development of a website, while ensuring design consistency and minimizing the possibility for mistakes. You can use the visual Layout Editor to build layout templates and specify default content for areas which don’t change from page to page, like a header with logo, the left menu with navigational control, etc. Then when you build individual pages you only need to add the content that changes (e.g. "About us" text).
With EventIQ Website Manager we havea visual web-based environment in which you will need nothing but the browser to build and manage your site. To facilitate this we have added an upload feature, which eliminates the need of FTP software for most cases. You can even organize the uploaded files in folders and limit access to them to selected users.
EventIQ Website Manager has an open architecture, which allows you to plug-in external controls and extend its functionality.
The roles and security module provided with EventIQ Website Manager allows you to enforce the process of site management in an organization with multiple users/departments. You can create different roles and give access to certain pages, then grant specific permissions for working with the Layout Editor, the Page Editor, and the integrated EventIQ content editor. Subsequently, you can create individual users based on those roles.
Example: Typically, your "Site Administrators" will have access to all pages and all tools (Layout Editor, Page Editor, EventIQ content editor). The "Marketing" role, on the other hand, will allow creation and management of pages, but not layouts, to ensure design consistency and site integrity. Users with this role will be able to use the EventIQ content editor to edit content of cells, and will have access to the "Products" section of the site only. Furthermore, you can configure the EventIQ content editor dynamically to provide different set of tools or access to different folders for the respective page or user role.
